There's nothing like a wedding. The calm, collected, genuine goodness of the bride. The buzz, bustle and boyish jubilation of the groom. I had a great time at H&C's wedding on July 3rd. And I'll tell you the guests had an even better one! It didn't take me long to realize what kind of good people these were. The groom was sweating it out, getting every stone in place, until just minutes before our start. He and his wife-to-be selflessly catered the entire day around everyone but themselves, even inviting their near 100 friends and family to come an hour before the ceremony for cocktails! His beautiful bride spent the moments before our photos arranging the flowers in her beloved pups' hair, never once glancing at herself in a mirror. Smiles and laughter ran deep. But even deeper, say I, the fly on the tent's walls, was their respect and adoration for one another. It was a privilege to capture these moments below. The soft, unspoken fond ones. The hearty, giddy, glorious ones. All of it made for a perfect union of two people who now have the most beautiful of new chapters unfolding. What joy and goodness fill just the first day, the first page of that book...
